  2. Right-click the Local Area Connection, or Dial Up Connection you use to connect to the Internet. Click Properties. See step a or step b next depending on whether you use a LAN or Dial-up connection.
    1. If your Internet connection is through your Local Area Connection Properties dialog box, make sure that the check box is selected next to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Select this entry and click Properties. See below:
    2. If your Internet access is through a Dial-up connection, click the Networking tab page first, then select Internet Protocol TCP/IP from the list and click Properties. See below:
  3. In the resulting Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties dialog box, (either Dial-up or LAN) click the Advanced button. See below:
  4. In the resulting Advanced TCP/IP Settings Dialog Box, choose the DNS tab page. See below:
  5. Click the radio button next to Append these DNS suffixes (in order): and click the Add button below the list of suffixes.
  6. Type your domain name and click the OK button. Then click Add again, type webville.net and click the OK button. Click OK again to close the Advanced TCP/IP Settings dialog box. That's it.

The next step in the setup process after configuring the DNS suffix search order (or installing the HOSTS file) is the Connectivity Test. You can return to the Step-By-Step page and go from there if you prefer.
